SHS COLLEGE AND CAREER CENTER - CCC (2026-27)

The College and Career Center (CCC) will re-open for the 2026-27 school year on September 23, 2026. The office will be open with the following hours:

Monday 9am-3pm

Wednesday 1pm-3pm

Friday 9am-1pm

SHS parents and/or students can stop by during open hours without an appointment.

If you are unable to drop in during open hours, please contact the CCC chairs for an appointment. Please give us at least 1 week notice for any appointment requests.

Our office is located on the 1st floor between the Auditorium and the Band Room. Please use the Brewster Road entrance and check in there before you come in for your visit. All SHS students and parents are welcome to stop in during these hours to look through our materials and resources and to ask questions of our many SHS CCC PTA parent volunteer staff.

If you can not visit the office, many of the resources and services are also available in digital and virtual formats. If you need information from the office or have questions, please email the CCC chairs: Tina Lin and Jennifer Zola.

THE CCC IS ...

  • AN INFORMATION RESOURCE where you can find college guides and reference books, gap-year programs, information on college tours, audio-visual resources, scholarship offers, a computer-based college information system, and a comprehensive resource for summer programs.
  • A LEARNING CENTER where groups of students meet with college representatives to discuss college options, where parents and students research colleges and investigate the many opportunities available, where trained volunteers are enthusiastic to assist in each phase of the process.
  • AN ATTENTIVE STAFF of trained volunteers who coordinate the activities of the Center. Scarsdale HS deans provide guidance and support for students and the volunteer staff.
  • If you have additional questions (i.e., Scoir, the “Book” or SHS Alumni Contacts) or need assistance, please contact the CCC chairs.

SPECIFIC RESOURCES

  • SHS College Admissions Results, aka “The Book” - The SHS Deans’ office compiles a book with the past 3 years’ worth of SHS college admissions results for all colleges. Unlike Scoir, which only shows data for colleges with more than 7 unhooked acceptances in the past 3 years, the Book will provide data for every college. Due to privacy concerns, the Book can only be viewed in the CCC office under supervision. Parents may not take notes or take photos of the data provided in The Book. This rule is strictly enforced, and anyone in violation will lose access to the CCC.

  • Online College Process Site Resource Scoir- This website is available to students and parents to aid in the college search and planning process. Students and parents will get a password during their junior year. The CCC office has access to Scoir, so if you have not received a password and would like to view Scoir, please visit the CCC office or contact the CCC co-chairs.

  • College Representative Virtual and In-Person Visits to SHS Campus Fall 2026: More than 200 college representatives will be visiting SHS this fall. The list will be maintained in the Scoir system. SHS Seniors should be sure to RSVP to the college rep visits they plan to attend. These visits are for SENIOR STUDENTS ONLY; parents should not be attending. If you have any questions about the college representative visits, please contact Moira Dahlke in the SHS Dean’s office.

  • Scarsdale High School Alumni Contacts: The CCC surveys graduating seniors each spring and collects contact information from those who are willing to provide personal experience information about the colleges they are attending. This helpful 2023-2026 SHS alumni contact list can be viewed in-person at the CCC. Due to privacy concerns, we do not provide digital access to the list. However, if you are unable to stop by the CCC and have a time-sensitive request for the contact information of alumni at a specific college, please email the CCC co-chairs.

  • Scholarships List: The CCC occasionally receives scholarship information from local or national organizations. CCC volunteers catalog these scholarships in a binder located in the CCC office. A digital list is available upon request. We recommend that parents visit online resources, such as Fastweb, Scholarships.com, or Big Future, for more comprehensive scholarship databases.

  • Brochures, Informational Materials and Reference Books: The CCC receives hard copies of brochures and other materials from various universities, summer programs, and gap year programs. The CCC also has copies of reference books such as the Fiske Guide to Colleges in the office. Parents are welcome to stop by the CCC office to peruse these materials during open hours.
