SHS PTA MULTICULTURAL COMMITTEE
SHS Multicultural Committee is a group of international and non-international parents who organize different events to welcome new and multicultural families into our community, to introduce them to each other, and to provide relevant information about the SHS experience. Staff from the SHS Counseling Department and other SHS representatives will be present to answer your questions about the school and its programs. We look forward to meeting you at our events.

Welcome Coffee and Q&A with SHS staff
This event welcomes families to the new academic year and allows parents to meet SHS staff, including the Principal, Assistant Principals, Deans, faculty from the World Language Department, Youth Outreach Workers, PTA Officers and Chairs and other interested parents, in an informal setting. Please join us for a conversation with SHS staff to ask questions and learn specifics about various SHS programs.
Joint SHS/SMS Thanksgiving Luncheon
Come together with other families to enjoy a festive potluck filled with flavorful dishes from around the world and American favorites! The event will be held at the Congregational Church. A sign-up sheet and more details will be provided as the date gets closer.
College Information Session
The Counseling Department addresses parent questions about the college admissions process, SATs/ACTs, AT/APs, essays, and more. Although the event is oriented to parents of SHS juniors, all parents are welcome.
Spring Coffee
The Counseling Department and Social Workers will meet with parents to discuss students’ high school experience and address questions related to academics, sports, club activities, and the many other resources available to students.
PTA Lunch Meeting with Multicultural Families Social
Multicultural families will join the PTA lunch meeting, where lunch will be provided by the PTA. Feel free to bring your favorite desserts or snacks to share. The meeting will be followed by a social gathering with parents and SHS staff, including the Principal, Assistant Principals, Deans, and faculty.
